Within the central spire of the Jedi Temple was a fully stocked hangar bay for the maintenance and launching of the order's speedy Jedi starfighters. The compact space was efficiently used, with starfighters lined along the inner circumference of the darkened chamber. To launch individual fighters, a retractable landing pad slid into position from a hatch. Once in orbit, a starfighter would dock with its assigned hyperspace transport ring. Though the Jedi Temple is the central headquarters of the order, the protectors of the Republic maintained a number of scattered bases of operation throughout the Republic. As the threat of the Separatists escalated during the years preceding the Clone Wars, these outlying stations saw increased use. When the Delta-7 starfighter was introduced to the Jedi arsenal, it was quickly distributed to hangar facilities on Kamparas, Eriadu and elsewhere to better defend the Republic against the growing conflicts.
